Welcome to International Students of the World Unite!

This is an experimental blog for easy sharing of cross-cultural experiences. International experiences are both interesting and scary to us. We try to make it less intimidating and more personal. People from other cultures are not barbarians –they just think differently than you do. It’s okay. There’s no right way of thinking. International experiences are about understanding and making friends. We would like to make a platform available for you to easily search for experiences that you would like to have, that you think are similar to yours, or that you find simply interesting. Meanwhile, be happy.

Spring 2014 Topics

January:

Write about one thing/event/person that made you happy while you were/are awayfrom your own country - use English (if you would like to write in a languageother than English, remember to send a translated version along with youroriginal!) and keep it under 500 words.

The thing/event/person could be abook, a movie, a pet, a trip, a dance, your host parents, your professor, yourfriends...anything you would like to write about.

Besure to be detailed in the the ONE thing that made you happy. It is okay tostart your post with general comments of your travel, but remember to focus onthat one thing in the bulk part of the post. Be descriptive about HOW thatthing made you emotional and what has CHANGED in you or in your life as aresult of it.

February:

Write aboutone thing/event/person that surprised you ... (same)

March:

Write aboutone thing/event/person that made you emotional...(same)

April:

Write aboutone thing/event/person that you feel has changed the way you see life/theworld... (same)

May:

Write aboutone thing/event/person that made you excited...(same)
